Our Grand Opening Event
FREE Haircuts from Face Value - Help the Boys and Girls Club

It seems that Old Trail and the Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia have had a good and supportive relationship for a number of years now. The Boys and Girls Club holds a number of events in Old Trail and they bring their kids here regularly for cycling. It was actually on one of these cycling evenings that we got an opportunity to meet the kids first hand. You see, we had just finished the construction of our Salon and Barber Shop and were in fact the only commercial business open yet in the new Old Trail Village Center.

As it happened, the kids were about to mount up and head off on their bikes when a severe thunderstorm blew in. They were now scrambling to get their bikes safely back into their trailer and find a place to ride out the storm. We spotted them as we were trying to get the last of some packing material stashed away in the dumpster before the storm hit. Naturally, we waved to them and motioned them in just as the hard rain and lightening began to pound the pavement of the parking lot. So now our brand new salon and barbershop was filled with kids, their adult leaders and our staff as we all watched the storm raging outside.

Our band of friendly visitors was a bit wet but no worse for the wear. Fortunately our new washer and dryer had just been delivered so Lucinda (the owner and one of the friendliest people you would ever meet) proceded to get those who needed it into our smocks and get their wet items into the dryer. And our fresh supply of sodas in the barber shop became just the sort of comfort needed to keep spirits up as the thunder and lightening continued outside. After several tours of our salon and updates of the doplar radar (and an undisclosed number of sodas and pretzel sticks) it finally seemed safe to venture back outside. Clothes were now dry and our adventure had come to a safe ending but not before we made some new friends.

And so, as we celebrate our Grand Opening, we invite you to come and join us on Saturday, July 18th from 9 am to 1 pm. During this event, for a donation of any amount to help our friends at the Boys and Girls Club, we will be delighted to give you a FREE haircut in either our salon or barber shop.

We are combining our grand opening with the official opening of the the Old Trail Village Center. On Saturday, July 18th, there will be something for everyone going on at Old Trail. ACAC is providing face painting, Trailside Coffee will be serving their fine coffee, Annas will be have some of their famous Pizza for you to enjoy, Segville will have their Segways out and about, there will be Moon Bounce(s) for the kids and more. Come enjoy a taste of our village here, it's a great place to be.
